Barkistan
Pet owners in Pakistan, pooling what we know.
We started as a WhatsApp group swapping the same questions over and over — which vet, which trainer, what should this cost, is this normal. The answers were good. They just disappeared into the scroll. This is where we keep them.
What we're building
- A record that outlasts the chatRecommendations members give at 2 AM shouldn't vanish by morning.
- Honest, both waysThe vets members trust, and the ones they warn each other about. Nobody pays to be listed and nothing is “sponsored”.
- Every claim traceableEach report says where it came from and when. How we rank.
Trusted Vets
The first thing we built, because it's the question the group asks most.
460 clinics listed · 26 community-vetted · 2 flagged to avoid · 815 member reports. Real numbers, updated as the community reports. Clinics rated under 3.8★ or with fewer than 20 Google reviews aren't listed at all.
A community, not a marketplace
Barkistan started as a WhatsApp group of dog owners in Islamabad and Rawalpindi. The reports now come from cat people, bird people and everyone in between, across four cities. Nobody pays to be listed. Nothing here is “sponsored”.
Two kinds of information, kept apart
Google gives us the facts — address, hours, rating. Members give us the part Google can't: how the vet handled a scared animal, a 2 AM emergency, or a bill. We show which is which.
A person decides, never a score
Community Vetted — and the to-avoid list — appear only after an admin reads members' real experiences. A high star rating alone never earns either. How we decide.
Coming later
Been to a vet recently? Good or bad, a two-minute report helps the next pet owner more than any star rating. Reports are moderated; you can stay anonymous.
